Julie Schwieder

Julie joined Toyota Europe Design Development studio (ED²) in 2008. 

In 2015 and 2016 she expanded her experience by joining Toyota Motor Corporation in Japan, where she worked at the colour group headquarters as a specialist responsible for European vehicle projects. 

She oversaw the creation of the bold Lexus LF-SA concept car, unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2015. The project allowed her to explore unfamiliar creative territory and push the boundaries of her design practice.

She is Awarded as Rising Star 2021 by Automotive News Europe. 

She was responsible for Yaris CMF development that was awarded Car of the Year 2021” and the New Yaris Cross. Now her role has been to conduct experimental & advanced vehicle colour conception and development of the sensory, colour materials and finishes for European and Global models of Toyota & Lexus. (new C-HR, new Corolla show car model presented at Tokyo 2025). 

Julie considers herself European, with both French and German heritage. She pursued her education in Paris, where she studied at two renowned schools of applied arts: École Boulle and École Duperré.
